Bud and his father just moved to the Von Lunar listening array deep in the New Mexico desert. In the morning, he boards the wrong school bus and instead of heading to Abraham Lincoln Elementary School, the bus flies off Earth and enter hyperdrive towards Cosmos Academy. The bus is filled with strange aliens!

At first, Bud doesn’t know what to do and wishes to return home, but when he discovers that Earthlings are feared by everyone, he must hide his identity from everyone. His new best friend, Gort, helps Bud adapt to life at Cosmos Academy. Bud even picks up Zero-Bal, an anti-gravity sport at which he excels.

Unfortunately, Cosmos Academy principal Lepton is keeping his keen eyes on Bud, and the Earthling must tread lightly. Can Bud find a way home before his true nature is discovered?
