Smuggler’s Run: A Han Solo & Chewbacca Adventure

Rucka, Greg. Smuggler’s Run: A Han Solo & Chewbacca Adventure. Part of the Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens series. 2015. 184p. ISBN 978-148472495-8. Available on the library shelves at FIC RUC.

Following the destruction of the Death Star at Yavin, the rebels have scattered across the galaxy looking for safe havens wherever they can find them. Han Solo and Chewbacca are ready to leave Yavin and return to the Outer Rim to repay Jabba and settle their debts, when Princess Leia convinces them they are the only ones who can help the Rebellion. A rebel agent has been traveling the galaxy, looking for new locations where Rebel activity can be conducted for a time away from Imperial eyes.

This agent, Ematt, is now in danger and must be rescued from Cyrkon, a planet populated by scum, smugglers, and criminals. The Millenium Falcon is the only ship fast enough to make this rescue attempt, and Leia begs Solo to save Ematt from the Imperial agents hunting him. Furthermore, Ematt is a big security risk, knowing all of the Rebel bases and their most important agents scattered throughout the Empire.

Reluctantly, Solo is convinced by Chewbacca that this is the right thing to do, and they head to Cyrkon. Meanwhile, Alecia Beck, a high-ranking Commander of the Imperial Security Bureau, is on the prowl for rebel activities. Having just broken a rebel ring, she is hot on Ematt’s trail, and pursues him to Cyrkon.

When the Falcon pulls out of hyperspace above Cyrkon, the Star Destroyer Vehement is already here. With bounty hunters and Imperial forces on the ground, can Solo and Chewbacca find Ematt before he falls in the clutches of the evil Empire?

Other books in this series include The Weapon of a Jedi: A Luke Skywalker Adventure and Moving Target: A Princess Leia Adventure.
